EDISON, N.J. (November 19, 2021) – NAFA Fleet Management Association (NAFA), the vehicle fleet industry’s largest membership association, welcomed nearly 80 attendees for its inaugural Caribbean Fleet Management Seminar. This four-day event attracted a wide range of representatives from the Caribbean region including delegates from Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Guyana, Grenada, St. Vincent, St. Kitts, Suriname, St. Maarten, and the Dominican Republic.

The Caribbean Fleet Management Seminar was a first of its kind event, bringing together delegates responsible for the management of fleet assets in the Caribbean. Delegates in attendance manage a wide diversity of fleets ranging in sizes from fewer than 10 to 1000 vehicles, including utility, light duty, construction equipment, heavy duty trucks, and buses. “The seminar was designed to address the broad spectrum of fleet management across the Caribbean and to provide a comprehensive learning experience for these fleet managers who seek strategic practices of successful fleet asset management”, said Bill Schankel, CAE, NAFA CEO. “Engaging fleet professionals across the globe is essential to NAFA’s mission of advancing the fleet and mobility profession.”

Over the course of four, half-day interactive sessions, delegates from the government, education, hospitality, corporate, and utility industries discovered how to measure their fleet’s performance, identified the factors that comprise a high-performing fleet, gained the skills to conduct efficient maintenance and repairs, learned how to use data to optimize their operations, explored how to implement fleet safety management, and uncovered the challenges, opportunities, and best practices for effective fleet management. The seminar sessions were facilitated by international fleet experts from Mercury Associates, Inc.—the largest dedicated vehicle fleet management consultancy in North America.

Hosted by NAFA Fleet Management Association, in conjunction with its industry partner, GISCAD Limited, the seminar concluded on November 17. GISCAD Limited is the Caribbean’s leading provider of geospatial, engineering design software solutions, fleet management and GPS tracking solutions in both the Public and Private Sector markets. The seminar was sponsored by Geotab and Geoforce.

Delegates receive a six-month trial membership and will be provided with opportunities to join the association, and to be a part of NAFA’s regional activities in the future. Information on a 2022 Caribbean Fleet Management Seminar will be announced in the near future.
