Special Awards

In some years, the judges are so impressed by certain fleets that although they are not the winner of the contest, the judges want to make a special award. In 2020, two fleets were chosen for special recognition.

Standout Practice and Innovation Award
San Joaquin County, CA

This fleet had very impressive Right Typing practices.

Best University or College Fleet Merit Award
University of California at Irvine

This fleet had amazing diesel reduction from 126K to 21K gallons from 2018 to 2019 through use of electric and hydrogen shuttle buses. UCI’s 20 all-electric shuttle buses and hydrogen fuel cell bus primarily transports 36,032 students through campus.
