SUMMARY:2026 Mid-Atlantic Advanced Transportation Summit & Expo Pre-Conference Workshop: Sustainable Fleet Management Certificate Program (July 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Things change quickly in the field of fleet sustainability\, and everyone seems to have a different opinion about what you should do. Gain the tools and methodologies fleet managers need to create sustainable plans\, to acquire sustainable fleet assets\, and to implement eco-driving and change management practices that help fleets reach their organization’s sustainability goals. This course will explore: Building a Sustainable Fleet Program\, Acquiring a Sustainable Fleet\, Driver Training\, Fleet Metrics\, Fuel Tracking\, Sustainable Leadership and Change Management. \n\nCourse includes:  \n\nSustainable Fleet Management Digital Manual and Study Guide (sent starting July 1\, 2026). \nOnline Exam – first sitting is included. Additional sittings may be purchased if needed. \nCertificate will be awarded to all participants who pass the online exam by July 21 2027. \n\n\nSpeaker:  \nRick Sapienza \nWake Technical Community College \nDean Transportation Technologies/Director \nHendrick Center for Automotive Excellence  \nSapienza has more than 35 years of experience\, serving in various leadership and teaching roles in the automotive industry. For the past 12 years\, he has worked at the NC Clean Energy Technology Center at North Carolina State University\, serving as Clean Transportation Program director and most recently as industry partnership director. In these roles\, he collaborated with industry\, government and academia to expand alternative fuels and infrastructure throughout North Carolina\, the Southeast and North America. He is the originator and host of the Sustainable Fleet Technology Conference and webinar series. SUMMARY:Maintenance Management Online Certificate Program (2026)
DESCRIPTION:Vehicle maintenance directly impacts productivity\, driver satisfaction\, corporate image\, safety\, environmental compliance\, and the financial bottom line. This discipline’s competencies will enhance understanding of\, and ability to communicate\, essential maintenance principles to in-house or outsourced maintenance personnel\, drivers\, and management.  \nThrough three live virtual sessions\, participants will be able to engage in instructor-led lessons\, question and answer sessions\, and have access to a knowledgeable expert.
