Gregg Hodgdon, CAFM®, has led E.A. Sween’s Deli Express fleet operations for the past 15 years. In this role, he oversees nationwide fleet operations for Deli Express’ private business distribution as well as the consolidated 7-Eleven business. Gregg holds the prestigious CAFM® designation, and has a bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in St. Paul. Gregg was the 2006 recipient of the prestigious Goill Award for his work in creating a tool that is used to forecast truck replacement budgets 7 years in the future.
In May of 2012 Gregg received the Sustainability Award from NAFA. The award was for his work in creating a new sustainable future for the Deli Express fleet. This change created a 20 percent lower cost per mile of truck operation and lowered the carbon output per truck of 4.2 tons per year.
“For me, the most beneficial part of the CAFM® program was the legal portion,” Gregg said. “At the time of preparation for taking the CAFM® tests our company was growing and I was signing many contracts for Fleet acquisitions and services. The CAFM® preparation gave me the confidence and background to challenge and negotiate resolutions that satisfied all legal parties.
“I believe that being CAFM®-accredited provides confidence to my employers and outside resources that I am a professional and that I take the Fleet Management career seriously. Having the CAFM® has also allowed doors to open more easily to new opportunities to work with other professionals. I believe that when others see the CAFM® they know that I have a broad base of knowledge about the fleet industry.”
