NAFA President Patti Earley, CAFM, Honors 100 Best Fleets Founder During Virtual I&E
PRINCETON, N.J. – (September 15, 2020) – NAFA Fleet Management Association (NAFA), the vehicle fleet industry’s largest membership association, announces the presentation of its Honorary Lifetime Membership Award for 2020 to Tom Johnson, founder of the 100 Best Fleets program.
The honor was announced by NAFA’s President Patti Earley, CAFM, shortly after the conclusion of the Winners Circle Panel presentation on Tuesday morning, September 15, during the Virtual I&E.
“It is my great pleasure to present NAFA’s Honorary Lifetime Membership Award for 2020 to Tom Johnson, someone who has been an evangelist for the best of fleet, promoting pride in and for our industry, amplifying the good work we do to the larger community and to our supervisors.”
Johnson thanked NAFA for the award by phone and was moved by the goodwill from the industry he has championed for many years.
As Johnson has often described, 20 years ago, he was charged with analyzing more than 3500 fleet departments, both corporate and public. Through this deep dive into the fleet industry, he recognized how much fleet managers know and do every day, and often how little recognition they receive for it. Johnson subsequently founded the 100 Best Fleets program which recognizes and rewards peak-performing fleet operations in the Americas.
NAFA’s Honorary Lifetime Membership Award is the Association’s highest level of gratitude for those outside of NAFA to be a part of our great organization.
Both NAFA and 100 Best Fleets have taken the mantle up for promoting fleet management and in pursuing excellence.
