NAFA Members Sister Mary Daniel and Pete Mitchell Receive NAFA’s Chapter Service Awards

(MAY 17, 2017 – PRINCETON, NJ) – NAFA’s Chapter Appreciation Luncheon, a highlight of the annual Institute & Expo which bowed in Tampa, Florida this past April, featured the presentation of the Chapter Service Awards. This year’s recipients are NAFA Associate Member Pete Mitchell, Executive Manager for Client Relations for CEI, a member of NAFA’s Philadelphia Chapter, and NAFA Regular Member Sister Mary Daniel, a member of NAFA’s Wisconsin Chapter and retiree from her duties with School Sisters of St. Francis, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

NAFA’s Chapter Service Awards shine a light on the work of one Regular Member and one Associate Member for their tremendous efforts in supporting their local chapter. To be selected for a NAFA Chapter Service Award, a Regular or Associate Member must be nominated in writing by their Chapter Board or a NAFA Officer or Trustee.

NAFA Vice President Jeffrey Jeter said of Mitchell: ”(He) has been the constant, a guiding presence with the Philadelphia Chapter for many years…But (Pete Mitchell) believes wholeheartedly in the concept of NAFA’s chapters and what they bring to all fleet professionals. He’s as committed to Philadelphia Chapter’s great relationships with the New York-Intercounty Chapter and the New Jersey Chapter.”

Mitchell has served on the Philadelphia Chapter Board of Directors for 20+ years, acted as Co-Secretary of the Chapter, has chaired the Chapter’s Nomination Committee since 2009, and has recently accepted the role of the Philadelphia Chapter’s Treasurer.

Mitchell was unable to attend the afternoon’s event but received his award later that evening, April 25, when he also won the Fleet Excellence Award (FLEXY) for Associate Member of the Year.

Jeter said of Sister Mary: ”With over 30 years of membership service, (she) has demonstrated her commitment and dedication to the Wisconsin Chapter as Treasurer and Secretary. (Sister Mary) freely shares her knowledge with both new and seasoned members of NAFA, and is a true professional.”

Sister Mary was lauded for her attention to detail with regard to the Chapter’s more granular tasks like chapter reports and audits, her volunteerism, and her commitment to NAFA. She is recognized as a role model, mentor, and friend during her many years in the organization.

Sister Mary was unable to attend the 2017 Institute & Expo. Larissa Clinard, CAFM®, Vice Chair of the Wisconsin Chapter and Fleet Manager for J. F. Ahern Co., accepted on her behalf.

NAFA congratulates and thanks Sister Mary Daniel and Pete Mitchell for their continued effort and dedication to NAFA’s chapters, the lifeblood of the Association.
