(PRINCETON, NJ – April 13, 2016) – NAFA, the world’s premier not-for-profit association for fleet professionals, will hold its annual Institute and Expo (I&E) in Austin, Texas, April 19-22. The four day event, designed by fleet managers, delivers new information, ideas and important updates on the latest in fleet management.

“We are very excited for this year’s I&E,” said NAFA’s Chief Executive Officer, Phillip E. Russo, CAE. “This event exposes members to various special events, presentations from industry experts, networking opportunities, quality educational sessions, and an outstanding exhibition hall showcasing over 250 exhibitors. If industry members attend only one event a year, the NAFA I&E should be it.”

Dan Ricci, Global Big Data Automotive Industry Leader for IBM Corporation will be Tuesday’s Keynote Presenter at the I&E. Ricci’s thought-provoking presentation will inform attendees where fleet fits into it, and what fleets can get out of it. Since 2002, Ricci has used various technologies and his industry experience to define and deliver solutions across multiple business functions including product development, manufacturing, quality, sales, marketing, service/aftermarket, and support. He has worked with most of the major automotive manufacturers and suppliers around the world.

Kent Rathwell will present the keynote on Wednesday morning. Rathwell had a goal: travel from one end of Canada to the other, in the dead of winter, on electricity alone. As President of Sun Country Farms, and later of electric vehicle charger company Sun Country Highway, Rathwell knew the public wanted a more-sustainable alternative to conventional fuels, but the fear of EVs and its oft-mentioned range anxiety required a demonstration. Rathwell put his money where his aspirations were.

As Founder of the Move-Over Awareness Campaign in New Jersey, Donna Setaro, Thursday morning’s keynote, has given presentations regarding the Move-Over law to over 55,000 people. “Most presentations I give are to an audience of around 300 people,” Setaro said. “On average, less than 15 percent in that audience are aware of the existence of Move-Over laws.” Many offenders are conscientious and otherwise law-abiding drivers who were either too distracted or thoroughly unaware of how to respond to these events.

Returning again this year are the NAFA Fleet Excellence Awards: industry awards recognizing outstanding individuals, teams, or fleets. The highly anticipated and attended award ceremony is scheduled for the first day of the conference. The FLEXYs are awarded in the fields of sustainability, safety, and overall fleet management achievement.

Other events to highlight at the 2016 I&E include the expansive expo hall, exclusive sessions, and networking opportunities.

•    Discover the latest technologies on the expo floor. With 250 exhibits, it’s a one-stop shop for the latest innovations and resources to help you save time and money.
•    CAFM® Boot Camp Certification Candidates. CAFM® Boot Camp will be taking place on site at I&E and is free with full conference registration.
•    Connect with fleet industry professionals representing all of the various groups and experience levels in the industry, through multiple networking events, coffee breaks, parties, meals and more.
