Ten Join Elite Group

PRINCETON, NJ, July 11, 2007… Ten fleet professionals have joined the ranks of the elite Certified Automotive Managers group, attaining their Certified Automotive Fleet Managers Certificates (CAFM) from the National Association of Fleet Administrators headquartered here.

This accomplishment is all the more remarkable in light of the challenges faced by the participants.  The intense course covers seven curriculum modules and must be completed within three years. All the while the candidates are juggling the demands of job and family obligations.  No small accomplishment‑often when past graduates are asked what their most significant and rewarding professional experience was, they immediately reply, “Receiving my certificate as a CAFM.”

The 2006 CAFM graduates are:

  • John Alley, CAFM, City of San Diego, CA
  • Mark L. Bellamy, Jr., CAFM, York County, VA
  • Raymond A. Brisby, CAFM, City of Calgary, Calgary, Alberta, Canada
  • Edgar S. Burroughs III, CAFM, AFLAC, Midland, GA
  • Michael Camnetar, CAFM, Standard Coffee Service, New Orleans, LA
  • David R. Koelsch, CAFM, Devon Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, OK
  • Stuart May, CAFM, OhioTurnpike Commission, Berea, OH
  • Monty Perham, CAFM, Winnipeg Fleet Management Agency, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
  • Leslie J. Phillips, CAFM, Department of National Defense, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

The first graduate of the 2007 class is Herbert J. Pruitt, CAFM, Massachusetts Port Authority, East Boston, MA.  He will be honored at the 2008 Institute & Expo.

These graduations bring the total number of CFMs and CAFMs worldwide to 199.  This figure includes 26 Lifetime CAFMs, 27 CFMs and 12 CFM/CAFMs.  Currently, 364 fleet professionals are enrolled in NAFA’s CAFM program.

NAFA congratulates this year’s graduates for an extraordinary job well done.
